Felissa Curry

Felissa Curry is a Claims Manager for Ascot Group. She has over 30 years of insurance experience which includes 26 years of workers’ compensation experience. Felissa started her insurance career with Allstate Insurance Company. She began handling workers’ compensation claims while working for AIG Claim Services in 1997. She was responsible for all aspects of claims management including compensability decisions, medical management, and litigation management. Felissa was hired by AmFed Companies in December 2003 as a Senior Claims Specialist. In this position, she was responsible for the management of catastrophic and senior-level claims for the Builders and Contractors Association Self-Insured Fund of Mississippi. She was promoted to Claims Supervisor in the Mississippi School Board Association in December 2006. She has since supervised several Self-Insured groups including the Builders and Contractors Association of Mississippi, Sanderson Plumbing, Mississippi Hospitality and Restaurant Association, Mississippi Manufacturer’sAssociation, and the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning.

In her current position as Claims Manager, she is involved in overseeing claims in multiple jurisdictions and provides guidance and direction to Claims Supervisors, ClaimsAdjusters, and Support Staff assuring that all claims are handled in accordance with applicable statutes and company rules. Felissa is involved in assessment of incoming claims and assignments and provides ongoing advice, mentoring and performance feedback for staff development.

She is a graduate of Dillard University with a B.A. in Business Management. Felissa has completed the Leading Change and Organizational Development Certificate Program at the University of Alabama’s College of Continuing Studies in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and MASI’s Certified Self-Insured Workers’ Compensation Professional certification.

Felissa has served on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Education Association since 2016. She served on the Kids’ Chance of Mississippiawareness committee and now holds the title of Secretary for the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Educational Association.

Felissa lives in Byram with her husband of 26 years.
